Department S “Burn Down Tomorrow” Ready To Scorch Stereos This October

Department S [L-R]: Mike Lea, Phil Thompson, Simon Bowley

It was a while back where I got rocked to the core by the latest single from from Department S. “Burn Down Tomorrow” was a scorcher of a song and one of the more exhilarating tunes I’ve heard this century. Their follow up single was no slouch either. Now we have the goods on their full length album, taking its name from the “Burn Down Tomorrow” single and once again, the exceedingly well-curated Last Night From Glasgow label is managing to rope in the bands that we love who are still doing sterling work and ultimately, makes LNFG’s subscription model [even though we can still buy releases carte blanche] look increasingly viable to these eyes!

And the trio are not raging at the dying of the light all alone. We reviewed the single with Baz Warne guesting and other guest stars on the disc will get the nod of approval from these quarters and hopefully yours as well. The album also sports guest turns from Leigh Hagerty [Ruts DC] as well as [him again] Stephen Rice [Chameleons]. It will be unleashed on October 11, 2024 and comes in LP and CD format with ten tracks as produced by Neil Treppas. He’s not a producer I recognize, but based on that title track alone, rock bands should be beating a hasty path to his door.

titles have not been released yet, but we couldn’t wait to post on this

You may order signed yellow or gray vinyl LPs for $33 as well as the silver disc for $17.00. I now need to cough up for four albums that Last Night From Glasgow have in their store over the last several months…including this one now! DJ hit that button.
