DEVO Farewell Tour? Not So Much, Apparently

Booji Boy messes with our head
From the rubber lips of Booji Boy comes…the TRUTH!

A while back we were discussing that DEVO so-called “farewell tour.” It would be remiss of me not to mention that Booji Boy himself has disputed the notion of a big wrap up for the prophetic spudboys. Chasinvictoria sent the image above to me a week or two ago and it’s hard enough to even post these days much less follow up with a correction, but that’s what I’m doing tonight. So if you’re like me and have yet to see the quintessential New Wave band, then maybe there’s still hope for us.

It’s curious, as Mark has always looked and sounded like he’s just dialling it in now. I’m sure this tour is motivated more by $$ than art.

Post Script, I just shelled out big bucks for the new 50th packs as well…

  4. It’s a farewell tour. They just don’t want to market it as such. The band isn’t going to tour after this. Heck I wouldn’t be surprised if they don’t play live again or release anything after 2024 (with the exception of reissues or box sets). The Hardcore tour in … 2014 (?) was spearheaded by Bob2, and the band soldiered on after his death to honor him. This time, well, I think this is more Gerry pushing things in general. A last hurrah, not to let it just peter our and fizzle but go out with a bit of a bang. From what I understand he would make new DEV-O music (or Muzak) but Mark seems to be the reticent one.
