Countess Of Fife Stage Virtual Hootenanny This Saturday On Web

countess of fife lockdown show #3 poster

This is just a quick post announcing that The Countess of Fife, Fay Fire’s new roots band will be having their third lockdown concert stream live on FaceBeast this Saturday, at 7:00 p.m. BST, so if you’re in the US of A like me, that’s at least five hours earlier. Chasinvictoria, that’s 11:00 a.m. in your zone, so get to sleep a little earlier than usual!

Virtual tip jar will be on Paypal, so don’t be stingy! I’m hoping that bands in this type of situation can possibly net a higher take than by playing for 300 souls in a typical club, so that’s hopeful in this era of Spotify driving every band’s income levels downward in a race to the bottom. It would be interesting to do a study on that… in my copious spare time!

  1. It’s a pity that it’s only on FB, but I look forward to it! While I’m at it, I will mention that Marc Almond has now posted two “lockdown concerts” from studios in London with his current band, and both have been very good indeed — the first was his usual show with plenty of favourites, the second was an acoustic set with a few surprises. Great to see him back in action!

I regret that they are only on YouTube, but for those who would like to see them, they’re both at this URL: https://www.youtube.com/user/MarcAlmondOfficial/videos?view=2&flow=grid

PS. He also put out a new album JUST before the lockdown hit, so also check out the latest single (he also played a song or two from it during the first show, and they sound great). The album is likely to be re-issued with bonus tracks sometime later this year, so stay tuned for that.
